About Centre for Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Chair, Acharya Nagarjuna University
Dr. Ambedkar Chair was established in 1993, supported by Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, New Delhi, Govt. of India, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. B.R. Ambedkar who is hailed as the father of Constitution, played an important role in the con Constitution, played an important role in the constitutional development and emancipation of the deprived Classes. The Center for Dr. Ambedkar Chair is focusing on Social Policy and Social Action. The objectives of the chair include to study, to propagate the philosophy of Dr. Ambedkar among the society, to encourage students PG Diploma in Ambedkar Philosophy, M.Phil and Ph.D. Course had been offered. So far 29 Ph.D’s and 14 M.Phil’s had been awarded in Dr. Ambedkar Chair, at present 27 Scholars are pursuing Ph.D working on Dr. Ambedkar and Dalit literature, the Centre is organizing seminars, Symposia, Lectures on Dr. Ambedkar’s life, work and ideology and to provide a common platform to the scholars working on Dr. Ambedkar’s thought in India and abroad to share their views and experiences, Dr. Ambedkar Chair had MOU with AMG India & Helwan University, Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt. To promote research on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s Ideology To ensure Social Justice and empowerment of vulnerable sections such as SC’s, ST’s and OBC’s. To conduct research programs on contemporary issues of exclusion and inclusion on Dr. Ambedkar Ideology ‘Social Policy and Social Action’. M.Phil., Ph.D. and PG Diploma in Ambedkar Studies courses are offered for social transformation and social change. To develop the philosophy and principals of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Thought. To study the judicious outlook propagated by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. To disseminate the Ambedkar’s efforts to eliviate the weaker sections through the Constitution of India. To carry out research on social thinker’s on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and to examine the impact on the society. To formulate inter disciplinary approach adopted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to identify the social problems. To conduct seminars/conferences/workshops and Lectures to high light the Ambedkar’s ideology, Thoughts and writings. To take up Research Projects and Action Plan Research’s for the holistic development of weaker sections with a focus on the unreached.
