Department is established in 1973. It is fist diploma program in state. Program is unique as it includes sandwich apprenticeship training of one year under curriculum. It is four year program. The institute offers ten different diploma programmes under Commissionerate of Technical Education (CTE) and is affiliated with Gujarat Technological University(GTU).
