Department of Physical Education of Saurashtra University persistently contributes to the welfare and holistic development of students. Keeping in mind the fundamental pillars of sports ecosystem Encouragement, Edutainment Empowerment, Enlightenment uragement, Edutainment Empowerment, Enlightenment and Employment, devoted and dedicated workforce of Department of Physical Education are always ready to contributes in creating sports culture and active living life style not only in the student’s fraternities but also employees of the University. In our University premises, Accommodation facilities and other logistics related to sports and games are as per the international norms and standards. To bring vibrancy and active living life style in the campus Department contribute a lots and many students the University are facilitate by us to bring laurels at national level sports competition. Vision: Strenthaning Sports Ecosystem Mission: Encourage, Edutain, Empower, Enlighten and Employ devoted and dedicated workforce for Fit India Aim: To Create Platform for Transformation of Inner Potentials of the students in the Field of Physical Education and Sports To Establish Sports Accelerators/ Start-up incubators in the state throuth innovation and Research. The University has important seats of learning spreading knowledge in the respective fields i.e. Nehru Chair, Baba Saheb Ambedkar Chair, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Chair, Swami Dayanand Saraswati Chair, Gulabdas Broker Chair, etc. The University runs a centre of learning and research in the name of Shri Zaverchand Meghani i.e. Meghani Lok Sahitya Kendra. The University in collaboration with Commissionerate of Industries, Government of Gujarat, and Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, has started National Facility for Drugs Discovery (NFDD) in the year 2009. The NFDD is a state of art centre of research and innovation. Later in the year 2014, the NFDD was transformed into Centre of Excellence (COE). COE is actively involved in generating funds from industrial consultancy.
