Horticulture is one of the vivacious sectors of agriculture which has various opportunities to sort out the problems of the mankind like malnutrition, un-employment etc. and also it has potential to uplift the country’s economy. Realizing the si uplift the country’s economy. Realizing the significance of services it renders to society, horticulture has been projected very high in national agricultural scenario. It has become an entirely separate division in all Agri-varsities of the country. College of Horticulture as a wing has initiated on September-2008 with the help of existing faculty of Department of Horticulture under C.P. College of Agriculture. Later on the wing was established as a separate College of Horticulture by Government of Gujarat as per notification No.ckv-122010-400-k.2 Secretariats- Gandhinagar Date 11-6-10 to train & develop the horticulture professionals as well as catering the growing needs of the nations and state of the Gujarat in particular. The college has well trained and highly qualified teaching personnel. This premier institute is imparting UG degree in Horticulture and PG & Ph.D. degree in various disciplines of Horticulture. To generate high quality manpower with cutting edge research and innovative technology in the horticulture sector to bring sustainable transformation in the lives of all living being as well as to meet the demand for technocrats in industry & research scholars in agrarian community. Strategic, need based and farmer oriented development of horticulture in Gujarat state through excellence in education and research for food and ecological security, improved livelihood opportunities and economic prosperity of farming communities.
