College of Food Technology was started in the year 2017 with the mandate of carrying out multi-disciplinary teaching, research and extension for development and dissemination of scientific knowledge in the field of food science and technology to empo n the field of food science and technology to empower human resources for emerging food industries. College of Food Technology building was inaugurated by Shri O.P. Kohli, Hon'ble Governor, Gujarat State and Chancellor, Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University on 30th November, 2018 in the presence of Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secratary DARE and Director General, ICAR, Govt. of India, New Delhi, Shri Ranchhodbhai Chanabhai Faldu, Hon'ble Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, Fishries and Transport, Govt. of Gujarat. The college offers a B. Tech. degree in ‘Food Technology’ (with an intake capacity of 30 students per year). It was a long and arduous task to build an institute from scratch. But we went forward unshaken striving for nothing but the very best. We anticipate quality students getting in as admissions get more competitive and the University would gain exceptional talent. The area of Food processing is replete with opportunities. With the world facing reverse challenges like climatic change and food security, it is we who would be called upon to satisfy the food needs of the growing population, anticipated to reach a billion by 2050. We would not only need to be technologically innovative in producing more but also adhere to strict quality standards and render nutritional food at acceptable costs to our current and future consumers. To develop human excellence and infuse leadership through diligence and innovation and also to create competent professionals to serve the needs of food processing sector. To be a prime institution in the area of Food Science and Technology. To provide knowledge of globally competitive processes and technologies in the area of food technology. To carry out research in the discipline of Food Science and Technology. To create technical man power to support the growing food processing industries. To promote the entrepreneurship amongst the students thereby making them job providers rather than job seekers. Teaching, Research and Extension in the field of Food Science and Technology To conduct under graduate education in the discipline of Food Science and Technology. To work as solution provider to the problems related to the Food Processing Sector. To conduct subject area research and further innovation for development of the Food Processing Sector.
