About CICS College of Teacher Education

CICS College of Teacher Education, one of the pioneer Institutions in the field of teacher education, started functioning with effect from the academic year -2005. Instituted under the Management of Calicut Islamic Cultural Society-CICS- which is who alicut Islamic Cultural Society-CICS- which is wholly dedicated to Social Service, it is full-fledged college imparting B.Ed curriculum of University of Calicut, recognized and approved by NCTE & Government of Kerala and affiliated to University of Calicut. Well qualified, experienced and dedicated teachers, always ready to serve team of management, with all infrastructural facilities above the requirements of this course, blessed with natural and serene atmosphere add to the grandeur of the institution and make it a unique one. Since its inception, CICS College of Teacher Education has been focusing on imparting quality education and to channelise the expansion of education from the institution to the society. It aims at ensuring effective teacher education programs that mould the teacher trainees as intellectually competent, morally upright and psychologically integrated, useful social beings. National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions, Government of India have been pleased to grant this institution the status of a minority educational institution. We envision embarking a teacher education programme that endorses integration of teaching and learning advancement through research, scholarship and leadership in service and outreach. - To build competent teachers well versed in the art and science of teaching; focus on 'learning to know' and exhibit true professionalism in the field of education. - To empower student-teachers with pedagogic principles and enable them to implement their innovative ideas in schools. - To enthuse prospective teachers to be adaptable, open to change and be role models in society. - To promote the student-teachers' proximal potential with a view to realize sociocultural values of the society. - To facilitate a modern outlook to meet the challenges of the 21st century. - To train the new generation teachers to preserve the values of the society and to redefine the role of teachers in the context of crisis; disaster management. - To initiate and collaborate with Government and Non-government organizations in community welfare activities, so as to channelise the expansion of education from institution to society. - To equip the teacher trainee to meet the global challenges and adapt to both off line and online teaching learning skills.
