GLA University

The GLA University Library System comprises of a Central Library along with 6 Institute Libraries, 6 Departmental Libraries and One additional Library in Hostel that collectively supports the teaching, research and extension programs of the Universit , research and extension programs of the University. At present, the Libraries has more than 188111 books and subscription of online e-resources/databases like Emerald Insight, IEEE Xplore Digital Library, Bentham Science, Scopus database, Manupatra Legal Database, Supreme Court Case Online (SCCONLINE), All India Reporter (AIR Online), HEINONLINE and LexisNexis etc. The University Library System is fully automated using KOHA – Integrated Library Management System which enables users to search library’s collection and help them to locate precisely. KOHA includes modules for circulation, cataloging, acquisitions, serials, reserves, patron management, branch relationships, and more. KOHA OPAC interface allows them to perform searches, save results for future reference and make purchase suggestion. It is integrated with our in-house software namely GLAMS. Other innovative library services are offered Remote access to e-Journals, Delnet, Applications QR Codes, Inter-library Loan, Overdue Alert Email Service, Web OPAC, Institutional Digital Repository, Anti-Plagiarism Tool (Turnitin), Ouriginal (Urkund), Wi-Fi Facility and so forth. Moreover, we adopt extensive strategies for awareness about library resources by preparing posters/flyers/mailers, user guides on notice board and website.
