Bihar Institute of Economic Studies (BIES) was established in the year 1990 by a group of eminent economists and academicians, having expertise and rich experience in their respective fields. It is a non-profit organization registered under the Socie non-profit organization registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860 with the Government of Bihar, Registration No. 407/89-90 dated 25.01.1990 and also under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) with Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Registration No. 031170144, dated 25.09.1998. BIES is also an approved institution u/s 12(A) of Income Tax Act. BIES conducts Social Science Research, Evaluation, provides Consultancy on Developmental Issues, Design and Implement developmental activities and Organizes Seminars/Workshop on Socio-economic issues including training of different stakeholders. Its area of operation is all over India particularly Bihar & Jharkhand.
