Bhartiya Shiksha Board (BSB)

Bhartiya Shiksha Board is a National Board of School Education constituted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It was established following the due process of law. Bhartiya Shiksha Board has been established under the Ministry of Ed oard has been established under the Ministry of Education, Department of Higher Education, GOI Letter: File No. 3-16/2017-Skt-I dated 06-03-2019. It has been recognized as equivalent to other National and State Boards of India by the Association of Universities (AIU) vide letter AIU/EV/IN (1)/2022/BSB dated 03rd August 2022. Ministry of Education, Government of India, has also notified Bhartiya Shiksha Board as a National Board vide its No.F.11-3/2016-Sch.3 dated 03rd February 2023. This information is also displayed on the website of the Ministry under the section BOARDS. Bhartiya Shiksha Board has been granted membership of the Council of Boards of School Education in India (COBSE) vide letter number COBSE/C.389/2023 dated 5th Jan, 2023. Bhartiya Shiksha Board began as a movement to re-establish Indian knowledge systems by consciously discarding Macaulay’s toxic legacy that wilfully liquidated our indigenous education and knowledge systems –Bhartiya Gyan Parampara and the Gurukul system and substituted it with the western culture and slave mindset of a colonised nation. Leading this movement in education are Yog Guru Swami Ramdev and Ayurvedacharya Acharya Balkrishna. Decades ago, they took the ‘Sankalp’ to revive the ancient knowledge system of Bharat and set up ‘Divya Yog Mandir Trust’ in 1995, followed by ‘Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust’ in 2005. Swami ji and Acharya ji have made it their life mission to champion the benefits of Ashtanga Yoga, Ayurveda and Swadeshi. Their efforts have helped billions worldwide cure their ailments by adopting Pranayama, Yoga, Ayurveda and healthier lifestyles. Recognising their contribution and commitment to reviving our ancient knowledge systems and improving the mental and physical health of millions of people in Bharat and the World over, the Government of India, through MSRVVP, vested the responsibility of establishing and managing the Bhartiya Shiksha Board in Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust. Thus, BSB has come into existence with a mandate to devise a genuinely indigenous model of school education that would blend the ancient Indian knowledge heritage with modern scientific knowledge and e-learning. BSB would affiliate government and private schools all over India to disseminate their uniquely ‘Bhartiya’ educational model. The vision of the Bhartiya Shiksha Board (BSB) thus is to empower children to rise above the narrow confines of caste, language, color and belief and instill in them ‘Vaishvik Drishtikone- a Global Vision’ that promotes a harmonious relationship between all the living and non-living elements of the Universe and works toward universal good of all. The curriculum and textbooks shall focus on character-building through value-based education and also train children to apply their acquired knowledge, skills, and talents ethically, respect and preserve all elements of nature and learn to live harmoniously and sustainably. Inspired by the National Education Policy 2020, the BSB textbooks make a conscious and determined effort to free the children and youth from the western biases and influences that have been harbored in their minds due to centuries of colonial rule and also the contemporary materialistic mindset that has been developed due to the rampant western culture in the modern Bhartiya society. Shradheya Swamiji and Acharya Ji are resolute in developing awareness about a balanced diet, healthy lifestyle and regular practice of Yog for physical fitness and mental wellness among the children. The curriculum and textbooks of the Bhartiya Shiksha Board have integrated information, knowledge, and skills of yoga, meditation, and ayurveda through critical thinking and experiential learning. It is our objective that children should become lifelong practitioners of Ashtanga Yoga. Bhartiya Shiksha Board has devised a national education system that takes due cognizance of the latest scientific research happening in the field of brain development, child development and learner-centered pedagogy and combines them with qualities of our own Bhartiya model of schooling – The Gurukul system and Guru Shishya Parampara.
