Baburaoji Gholap College

Pune District Education Association (P.D.E.A.), Pune, the parent body of our college, was established by the great social reformer Hon. Baburaoji Gholap in 1941 with a vision of 'Bahujan Hitay, Bahujan Sukhay'. The greatest achievement of the associa n Sukhay'. The greatest achievement of the association is that it was awarded "The Best Educational Institution Award" by the Government of Maharashtra in 2000. P.D.E.A.'s Baburaoji Gholap College, Sangvi, Pune 411027 was established in June 1989 with the motivation of Late Prof. Ramakrishna More, President of Pune District Education Association. The College was established, keeping in view the fact that there was no college of higher education within the fast-developing area of Sangvi, Aundh, Baner, Wakad, Kalewadi, Pimple Gurav, Pimple Nilakh, Thergaon, etc. The major population in this area comes from the middle class and is economically weak. There are few higher secondary schools in this area, making access to higher education a problem for students, especially for girls since other senior colleges were more than 10 km away from Sangvi. Our college has been imparting education to rural, semi-urban, and urban populations. Starting with a small student body, the college now boasts adequate classrooms, laboratories, a library, a sports center, and a well-equipped computer center. It benefits from a competent, research-oriented faculty and an efficient administrative tradition. Our multi-faculty college offers undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses in Arts, Commerce, Science, Computer Science, and Vocation to students coming from the semi-urban and rural areas of Maval, Mulshi, and Haveli Tahsil. At the undergraduate level, we offer specializations in Marathi, English, Economics, History, Politics, Commerce, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Computer Science, Computer Application, Software Development, Fashion Technology, Retail Management, Travel & Tourism Management, and Beauty Therapy & Aesthetics. Additionally, we provide postgraduate specializations in Marathi, English, Economics, History, Politics, Commerce, Physics, Chemistry (analytical and organic), Botany, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Fashion Technology, and Software Development & Management. The college also runs seven doctoral programs (Ph.D.) in English, Economics, Political Science, Commerce, Physics, Chemistry, and Environmental Science.
