About Animal Biotechnology, Gujarat Biotechnology University (GBU)

Gujarat Biotechnology University offers a two-year full-time MSc programme to nurture world-class, enterprising individuals in Animal Biotechnology. Through the application of cutting edge molecular and genetic techniques, students will learn how ar and genetic techniques, students will learn how to optimise animals for high-demand applications in pharmaceutics, industries, and agriculture. A basket of projects will be offered to the students, focusing on the development of a range of products which will keep evolving depending on local and national demands. Stem cells technology and vaccine/antibody production Artificial tissue and organ production and associated regulatory and IP issues Animal breeding for enhanced performance and traits; avian biology Aqua culture and marine biotechnology Animal welfare and integrated farm management Animal management strategies for antimicrobial resistance (AMR), risk-minimisation, and mitigation OMICS and bioinformatics There will be an opportunity for student placements at the University of Edinburgh during the programme Students graduating from the programme will find employment opportunities in various industries, both national and international companies.
