The Amrut Mody School of Management offers wide-ranging, multi-faceted management education through undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programmes. We also offer short-term certificate programmes for working professionals and other practitioners. Th working professionals and other practitioners. The Management School is located in the heart of Ahmedabad, one of India’s most vibrant and historic centres of commerce. Its mercantile and industrial history underscore its present-day reputation as a hub of enterprise and new business ideas. In addition to its bustling streets, markets and sophisticated cultural life, the city is also home to many of India’s most reputed educational institutions, making it uniquely livable for students and academics. The Amrut Mody School of Management offers undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and executive education programmes in the disciplines of commerce, business administration, management, and heritage management. The Management School has over 4000 students, and is spread over two fully-equipped campuses, centrally located within Ahmedabad. All our academic programmes are rooted in research, and offer students a project-based learning approach. Consistent with the University’s vision, research at AMSOM is application driven and aimed at addressing real life problems in a rigorous manner while simultaneously involving students as well. Accordingly most of the academic programmes of the school require students to work on sponsored projects under the supervision faculty mentors, thereby providing access to problems that are relevant with opportunities for pursuing research and developing case studies. In addition to doing research in their disciplinary specialties, faculty are strongly encouraged to work on making high impact through research by working on contemporary problems that are complex and require interdisciplinary approaches. Current thrust areas in this regard include – (a) developing insights into customer behavior, particularly in the context of retail sector, (b) Fintech and related applications and (c) behavioral economics. Faculty have additional opportunities for pursuing interdisciplinary research through the four center at the University – (a) Global Center for Energy and Environment, (b) Center for Heritage Management, (c) Research on Entrepreneurship and Innovation through the Venure Studio and (d) research on pedagogy through the Center for Learning Future. ...view more
