Set in natural beauty and close to the sacred Ganges, All India Institute of Medical Sciences Rishikesh was strategically located to address regional imbalances in healthcare services, research, and training. It was established under the Pradhan Mant raining. It was established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna’s first phase and supported to be an autonomous body by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Bill, 2012. The first batch of 50 MBBS and BSc Nursing students enrolled in 2012 while outpatient and inpatient services started in mid-2013. Jasa PBN Aged Domain. Since its inception AIIMS Rishikesh has evolutionized into an institute of national importance, with a current annual enrollment of 125 MBBS, 100 BSc Nursing, 25 MSc Nursing, 450 MD/MS/MDS, MCh(6 years) , 178 DM/MCH, 37 PDCC, 15 MPH, 13 Medical MSc, and 87 Ph.D students. AIIMS Rishikesh now runs numerous medical & allied courses. These activities are mentored by more than 200 faculty members. Along with a growing footfall in routine outpatient clinics, 91 specialized clinics have been added. Similarly, from a 200 bedded inpatient facility in 2013, it has now 960 bed capacity. 24x7x365 Emergency services have now bifurcated into separate Trauma Surgery and Emergency Medicine services. Official work is tracked through the e-governance system in a bid to limit the paper-based system. To achieve excellence in research by augmenting capacity, infrastructure, and systems for research in basic, translational, clinical, and public health sciences, so as to contribute to the nation in the fight against public health diseases. AIIMS Rishikesh took a vital step on 24.10.17 by adopting e-Hospital supported by National Informatics Centre, which is an open source health information management system designed to deploy in cloud infrastructure to manage multiple hospitals seamlessly. With this facility, patient registration, admission records, billing, reports of investigations, pharmacy and inventory modules are running hassle-free. Many patient-related applications like Health Radar, Artificial Intelligence Based Patient Screening System a Web & Mobile based application are deployed for saving time and to improve personalized care. Telemedicine is another milestone achieved and being used as a roadmap to improved healthcare in rural areas providing a virtual digital platform for healthcare in far-flung areas. ‘Mera Aspataal’ is a mobile-based application for accessing patient feedback, to gauze the responses and devise required improvements in the system. AIIMS Rishikesh has incorporated e-office (files management system) in 2019 to compete work in transparent and timebound fashion. Commencement of e-office has reduced the consumption of paper in day-to-day correspondence. Similarly, campus management software has enabled us to manage enrollment, admissions, fees, scheduling, assignments and assessment of grades of students.
