The University Institute of Engineering & Technology (UIET), School of Engineering and Technology was founded with a vision to serve the country in the 21st century by offering its students advanced knowledge in engineering and technology, science an nowledge in engineering and technology, science and other areas of scholarship. The intellectual stimulation that is provided to each member of University Institute of Engineering and Technology community generates a passion in him/her to work wisely, creatively and effectively for the national development. UIET is a flagship institution of CSJM University and is located in the 264-acre sprawling, lush green campus of university. The institute offers six B. Tech courses in five branches of engineering – Chemical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Information technology, and Mechanical Engineering. Apart from B. Tech courses, UIET also offers Bachelors and Masters courses in Computer Application, PG Diploma courses and Vocational courses. The institute seeks to contribute superior education to its students through curriculum design, development of new courses and application of a forward looking and innovative teaching methodology. UIET has highly qualified faculty members and technical staff who work tirelessly to educate our students. The Institute has complete academic autonomy and the curriculum is upgraded regularly to meet the current and future needs of the industry. The institute actively promotes innovation and is keen to cultivate the spirit of entrepreneurship among the students. In order ensure an all round development of its students, the institute encourages them to participate in cultural, sports, literary activities and social service programs during their stay here. The institute is continuously evolving and changing with national aspirations, national perspectives and worldwide trends. The institute has a collection of engineering, science and technology books in the central library of the university, and has a separate section for UIET. The entire library collection is digitally compiled. The Computer Science and Engineering department has specialized labs like the microprocessor lab. The university auditorium serves as a centre for academic, extra-curricular and cultural activities. Students are either residents of the university hostels, or live in the city. The institute holds extracurricular events such as Spandan (the annual cultural festival held within the institute premises) and Techmart (the annual technical festival). A welcome event for the newcomers into the institute and a convocation or farewell ceremony for the students who are in their final year and are about to graduate, is held annually.In the recent years, Alumni meets have been held as part of cultural events, attracting alumni settled in academia and corporate.
