The unprecedented global pandemic that gripped the world in 2020 served as a stark wake-up call, compelling governments and policymakers to reevaluate and reimagine the conventional paradigms of urban living. This crisis has underscored the pressing need for new design perspectives that transcend the boundaries of individual buildings and extend to encompass public spaces and urban areas as a whole. In the face of climate change and the ever-present threat of natural disasters, urban design must now embrace adaptability, resilience, and sustainability as core principles. It is no longer sufficient to create structures that merely serve their intended purpose; instead, we must strive to create urban spaces that harmonize with the natural environment and possess the ability to withstand and recover from unexpected challenges. Recognizing this urgent need, the School of Architecture at Techno India University has meticulously designed its undergraduate and postgraduate curricula to empower students with the powerful tools of Design Thinking. This comprehensive approach to problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity equips aspiring architects and urban planners with the necessary skills to address the complex conditions that define our era.
