SBS COLLEGE OF NURSING

During the current year it reached another milestone with the setting up of Sri Basawaraja Swamy (SBS) Institute of Nursing. Apart from being a social service of the highest level to those suffering from illness and old age maladies, nursing is also rom illness and old age maladies, nursing is also a profession that fetches high levels of remuneration with employment opportunities burgeoning both within and outside the country. The course offered is Bsc Nursing and diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) SBS aims at equipping students with high class nursing education and potential for high income jobs. The Institute has well experienced faculty, separate hostels for male and female students and tie-up with leading hospitals in the city for providing practicals. Choosing a career in the art and science of patient care means discovering an avenue for high levels of satisfaction, a rewarding future, especially in a scenario where the demand for health care professionals is growing on a global level. It is in this context that SBS has committed itself to developing nursing expertise on a large scale, in a stimulating and enjoyable atmosphere. Imparting excellent and professionally relevant education has been the chosen mission of the Literary Education Association of the ancient Ganjam Math. No wonder the small educational institution started in 1959 has blossomed into a full-fledged college offering degree courses from what was just a middle school to begin with. The leap-frogging growth started in 1982 when Sri Chidghana Swamigalu took over as the president of the association. Himself holding an M A., M.Phil, degree in Sanskrit, the Swamigalu gives high priority to higher and professional education. Imparting excellent and professionally relevant education has been the chosen mission of the Literary Education Association of the ancient Ganjam Math.
