Such children, better known as specially abled children, like other normal children have all the basic rights to lead a healthy life .We, through our NGO are trying our level best to raise the bar for standard of living for such strata of population so that they also become an important part of the mainstream. The main motive behind our endeavour is that “every capable one should help the incapable one to become sufficiently capable”.
Though it is a very difficult path to follow, but if every one of us give our little bit ,then we can come up with flying colures and help the less privileged class to lead a healthy, happy and better life. Deviating from the social norm, that a NGO is usually formed by someone older in age, expert and a more experienced personnel, this NGO is the invention of young minds who have fresh and newer perspective to help rejuvenating the society.
The Safe Hands Rehabilitation Society is formed by a group of young professionals in the field of special education. The framework of the NGO was designed by Bikramjit Singh Mann, a successful Businessman in Film Industry and an efficient special educator himself. Every member of the governing body of this NGO is a special educator by profession in different fields. This NGO came into existence with the zeal to help the “neglected” section of the society i.e Children with special needs.
Our mission is to create an equal society where individuals acquire competent skills to become independent. This equality also entails an environment of support and welfare for women, where they are a part of mainstream economy and livelihood in the households.
Short term goal is to focus on imparting literacy through non-formal education, Technical/ Vocational Education, Health & Hygiene Awareness, Advocacy for the Government policies that benefit people, educating women about their rights.
With the motto to “Inform, Communicate, and Empower”, SHRS aims to empower the abilities of special children, find sustainable ICT solutions, to overcome information poverty in rural, semi urban and urban areas of India. It also aims to promote Health through Ayurveda, Helping the needy and old age people, Women and Youth Empowerment, Sustainable Agriculture and Tourism.
In an effort to achieve this aim, SHRS has initiated projects in areas of Access & Infrastructure ; Education & Empowerment; Citizen Services; Social Enterprises; Knowledge Hub & Network; Heritage & Culture.
