Suresh Brahmkumar Bhatt college of Physiotherapy was founded in 1999 with capacity of 30 annual admissions, later increased to 50 from 2005. It is the first Self financed college to be opened in Gujarat.The college came into being with pious & genero at.The college came into being with pious & generous donation of Rs. 51 Lakhs from Late Shri Brahmkumar Bhatt from his M P Grant and Sadbhavna Charitable Trust.The college was inaugurated in 1999 by Justice of High Court Shri K G BalKrishnan and the ceremony was presided over by Mayor Shri MalinibenAtit, Shri BrahmkumarBhatt, Shri Surendra Patel and Commissioner Shri K KKailashnathan. Continuing and enhancing the physiotherapy knowledge, the institute successfully began Post-Graduate course in physiotherapy in 2006 with specialities like Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Neuromuscular Physiotherapy, Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation.Ph.D program commenced in 2012. Right from its inception the college is fortunate to have the services of well-qualified and dedicated teachers. For a college, more important than the building is the quality of teachers. It is not an exaggeration to say that to a very great extent it was the teachers who attracted the best among the bright students to this college for pursuing their Physiotherapy studies. The twin combination of inherent brilliance of students and guidance and advice of the dedicated teachers has brought about the best result. The prestige of the college has increased year by year. Many dedicated teachers, some of whom have resigned, have contributed to the progress of this institute. The students are the heart of the college and it is they who keep the college and campus pulsating with life and vigour. A.M.C. Medical Education Trust has taken up the responsibility of medical education since 2008. For taking up this function the people of city of Ahmedabad in general and the medical persons in particular owe a lot of gratitude to the corporation because even though Para Medical education is not one of the compulsory functions of the corporation but for this noble gesture, hundreds of physio’s would have been deprived of their chance to pursue Physiotherapy studies and obtain Physiotherapy degrees. Since 2008, administration of the college is managed by AMC Medical education trust. COLLEGE BUILDING College has a separate two storey building with hi-tech well equipped Physiotherapy department on ground floor and Academic activities being conducted on first and second floor. Students are availed with the facilities like well established digital library with more than 5000 books to multiply their knowledge and various International Journals. College has 5 lecture halls equipped with multimedia facilities, 3 practical halls and two multipurpose halls for conducting seminars, conferences, cultural events, etc. HOSPITAL ATTACHMENT Sheth Vadilal Sarabhai General Hospital is a General Hospital managed by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation which is a 1200 bed capacity multispeciality hospital that treats patients free of cost. SBB College of Physiotherapy has a well established and well equipped physiotherapy out patient department attached to Sheth Vadilal Sarabhai General Hospital treating almost 350 patients of all specialitiesper day. Staff and students of the college are also involved in treating about 150 indoor patients on daily basis. COLLEGE ACTIVITIES SBB College of Physiotherapy had successfully been a part of organizing committee for the Annual National Conference organized by Indian Association of Physiotherapy in 2005. In 2011, college had successfully organized a state level conference, 5th GujstateConphycs in 2011. Institute also organized a National level conference CONOR 2013 – National Conference on Orthopedic Rehabilitation. College has also been an academic partner for a National Conference YUVA CONCLAVE 2018 in September 2018 Students of the college have participated in various conferences all over India and have won prizes which add to the fame of the college.
