Nazir Ajmal Memorial College of Education, Hojai marked its glorious presence with its establishment by Ajmal Foundation in the year 2014 with an aim to achieve and enhance a knowledge-based society. The College was established in the fond memory of The College was established in the fond memory of Late Nazir Ajmal, the youngest of Ajmal brothers, who passed away prematurely. The College, since its inception, have been imparting lessons in Teacher Training Education and Research to equip the teachers with appropriate knowledge, habits, attitudes and values. This will not only develop the necessary competencies as a teacher but also create a desire for lifelong learning and to reach the unreached. It has made impressive strides in establishing itself as a premier institution of learning by blending quality education and socially relevant academic endeavors with mission orientation and tireless striving for excellence. The core team, the skilled educators, play the role of shaping the young achievers and craving their path of excellence. They perform the multifaceted and challenging tasks of nation building. The role of teachers as facilitators for social transformation to the right direction will require them to develop in children self-learning skills and high emotional and spiritual quotient to play this role effectively. With this mission, Nazir Ajmal Memorial College of Education, Hojai has emerged to instill in the teachers the urge to be creative and innovative to make fit to the present-day sophisticated technology-oriented classrooms, teachings and learning. The College ensures that students flourish their individuality with pride and honor in every aspect of life. The Staff accomplishes its goal by prioritizing a healthy bond between teachers and teacher-trainees. The College is affiliated to Guwahati University. It is recognized by Eastern Regional Committee of N.C.T.E. (National Council for Teacher Education), Bhubaneswar, vide ERC/7163.6.1/NCTE/B.Ed./ 2013/21735 dated 06/11/2013. As per the latest norms and regulations of NCTE, the College offers Two-Year B.Ed. Course. It has the capacity to intake one hundred trainees per batch and the course is imparted through face-to-face mode. B.Ed. is an important tool which impacts quality education and innovative teaching techniques. Moreover, B.A. course is also introduced under the same University from the year 2020. Currently, there are live departments under this course: Assamese, Education, English, Political science and Sociology. Planning is being made to introduce History and Geography Department from the year 2023. The departments are supported by well-qualified and efficient faculty members who are friendly and strict with the students at the same time. The College campus has sprawling lawns and well nurtured garden. The serene setting makes this college an exquisite natural beauty and provides an ideal atmosphere for study. The Campus is developing and is endowed with facilities such as Students’ Hostel, Library, ATM, Sports ground, Canteen and many more.
