Since 1906, the “Jewel in the Crown” of Vidharbha, INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE imparts education to undergraduate & post graduate students in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Electronics, Environmental Science, Botany & Zoo
, Electronics, Environmental Science, Botany & Zoology, with more than 1000 students on its roll. The Institute is known for excellent research and today 153 students are pursuing their Ph.D. under various departments.
The Institute is situated in the heart of city having 30 acres of land. Having boys’ and girls’ hostel situated in the campus. This institute also provides state of art sports and cultural facilities to the students. To run with the time and to stand on the global education platform, it is necessary to upgrade facilities. Having nurtured young minds for over a century, the Institute now looks forward to equip itself to meet the challenges of the new millennium through up-gradation of infrastructure and technology with an aim of improving access and promoting excellence in higher education.
The Institute of Science is the historical and most prestigious Institute in Central India.
It was established in the year 1906 as Victoria Science College, Maharaj Baug, Civil lines, Nagpur.
In the year 1929, this Science College shifted to newly erected building on about 19 acres of land near Nagpur University.
The 100 years of legacy and tradition of excellence are maintained till now. This institute has world class alumni and excellent past records.
Due to globalization and advancement of pure science education, there is urgent need to take turn towards international standards by achieving the dedicated goals in planned manner.
Present day scenario needs the state of art infrastructure and world class education.
