Indian Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) was established in 1984, with a fundamental purpose of creating new knowledge and developing alternate modes of improving healthcare to management research, education and training in India and ot t research, education and training in India and other parts of theworld. The Institute has significantly contributed to the areas of health research management in the country and in South-East Asia Region. It has established a new paradigm of management of capacity development among healthcare professionals at the national, state and district levels in the areas of leadership, strategic management, and quality assurance in health care. The Institute works as a WHO Collaborating Centre for District Health Systems Based on Primary Healthcare since last one and a half decades. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, has designated the Institute as ‘Institute of Excellence’ for its contribution to capacity development programs in the health sector. The Post-graduate program in Hospital and Health Management, Pharmaceutical Management and Rural Management are the unique programs of IIHMR. Under the Society of Indian Institute of Health Management Research, the IIHMR group has created four campuses all over India. The IIHMR, Jaipur has now became the IIHMR University.The IIHMR University will be the first of its kind Research University in the State of Rajasthan with an exclusive focus on management research, education and training in the health and related sectors. The primary focus of the University is on Research and Post-graduate Education. With the establishment of IIHMR, Jaipur as the IIHMR University, the AICTE approved Post-graduate Courses offered at the Institute will be offered asMBA programs in the related disciplines. Besides these MBAprograms, the University introduced doctoral program. In this endeavour, the University introduced the first Ph.D. in Hospital and Health Management in February 2014. The IIHMR, Delhi and Bangalore campuses will offer the courses at its present status as AICTE approved post-graduate programs. Indian Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) is an Institution dedicated to the improvement in standards of health through better management of health care and related programs. It seeks to accomplish this through management research, training, consultation and institutional networking in national and global perspective. Capacity building of health professionals to effectively manage health services at the national, global level. Conduct policy and programmatic research on the most important policy and management issues in the health sector. Develop successful model of services delivery and management, which can be adopted widely by public sector and NGO health care organization. Disseminate latest knowledge and management technology in India and other developing countries. Establish the Institute as a world-class academic institution in the area of health and population management.
