The Government of Karnataka under Department of Technical Education has established 08 Engineering colleges during the year 2007-08 and during 2009-10 GEC Karwar established with four branches of engineering , namely, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering. Presently this college is functioning in a huge campus with all utilities in the area of 14.34 acres land located adjecent to National High way – Karwar to Goa (NH- 66) in MAJALI on survey No. 482. The Government of Karnataka started this College with an objective of "To Reach the Unreached" As quoted by renowned educator Nido Qubein,"Your present circumstances don't determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start", our Institution, although having a rough start, is slowly evolving to become one of the elite technical institutes providing quality technical education. The Students are admitted to college only through Karnataka CET with very nominal fees. Most of students admitted with weaker economical background. They get either fee reimbursement by Government of Karnataka or scholarships from various social welfare departments.
