The research activities of the Geosciences Division focus on understanding the origin and evolution of the planet earth and its various components,with special emphasis on timescales and processes.The methodologies followed center on the measurements methodologies followed center on the measurements of abundances of elements,radioactive isotopes,ratios of radiogenic isotopes and themal/optical luminescence properties of materials using modern analytical tools.
