Training College on 14th August, 1951. The College has played a crucial role in the field of Teacher Education during the last six decades. It is the only women’s college of teacher education in the state having a constituent status.
The college was established in the hostel of Bankipore Girl`s High School, Patna as a temporary arrangement and government sanctioned appropriate money for having a suitable campus for the college. Soon after all the government colleges in Patna and few private colleges were transferred to Patna university as such Patna women`s Training college being a government college, was also transferred to Patna university.
In the year 1976, the college was shifted from Bankipore girl's high school to Department of Education, Dariapur. Around that time classes were being conducted in two sessions in the single room. About two years later, the college was shifted to Gandhi Maidan besides Magadh Mahila College, Patna.
The college caters to building a hundred teachers every year. At present,, the Nalanda Open University holds an entrance test every year for admission to the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Programme of the college. The college is going to be renovated and updated with all the facilities required to build good teachers. The college environment is constantly bubbling with a lot of energy and activities. A lot of workshops, cultural activities, excursion, sports, art and craft activities, NSS programmes, symposium, are organized in the college. The college has established a Baby Care Centre also. The college prepares dedicated and competent teachers with an aim to give their best services to the various schools of the State, Nation and Abroad.
In any teacher training programme every student teacher is taught to be responsible to understand her duties as a teacher, equip herself with the right attitudes, develop a scientific temperament, inculcate the right values needed to adapt to the society and know her moral dedication towards this noble profession.

7. To enable teachers to understand the philosophy and history of education and its importance to understand education and its system as they become future teachers
8. To understand child psychology and the teaching-learning processes and the importance of teaching methods and itrs implications for teaching students.
9. To help student teachers understand the use of different technologies that can be used while teaching and how to make them sound and reach the understanding of students
10. To make students plan and participate in the various co-curricular activites and extra- curricular activities and make them realize the importance of such activities in the building of personalities of the students.
11. To mould student teachers into efficient leaders helping school students become good citizens of the country.
12. To prepare dedicated teachers working for the goal of achieving total literacy in the country.
