The Don Bosco High School, Nikamul-Tezpur, was established on 18th January 1971 on an auspicious day. At that time St. Joseph’s Convent School, Tezpur was Catering co-education to the students of the locality only up-to class IV.

At this juncture many of the local parents approached then the Bishop of Tezpur, Rt. Rev Emeritus Joseph Mittathany to start an English Medium School to the boys of the locality. Then the Bishop decided to open an English Medium School in the premises of Bishop’s house Tezpur, near Chitralekha Udayan (Cole Park) named after St. John Bosco, as Don Bosco School , Tezpur , from classes V onwards to the needy students to fulfil the desire of the people.
In order to run the school very efficiently and to provide good quality education,he called a group of Sacred Heart Sisters from Changanacherry, Kerala with George Vettikal as the first Headmaster of the school.Since then,the Sacred Heart Sisters were inducted in the running and the teaching of the school.Of them Sr . Christopher SH and Sr.Fabiola (late) are worth mentioning as first group of Sisters as pioneers of the school.
In 1990 The School was shifted to this present location with present set up, and with recognition from the State Board of Assam(SEBA).
Education at Don Bosco High School is about self confidence, challenge and enjoyment. It teaches the importance of constructive questioning and a sense of responsibility with compassion, confidence and creativity.
