Abstract
The LiDAR technology is rapidly advancing and revolutionizing the transportation industry, particularly in the development of self-driving cars. LiDAR sensors are now smaller, lighter, and more robust, making them suitable for use in a variety of vehicles. These sensors are capable of creating high-resolution 3D maps of the environment in real-time, providing self-driving cars with accurate perception of the road and surrounding obstacles. Along with cameras and radar sensors, LiDAR plays a crucial role in creating a comprehensive picture of the driving environment, enabling self-driving cars to make informed decisions and navigate complex driving scenarios. Despite its numerous benefits, LiDAR-based self-driving cars still face challenges such as safety concerns and potential impact on the job market. However, as manufacturers continue to invest in this technology, we can expect to see an increase in the number of self-driving cars on the road, offering safer and more efficient transportation options for the future
