SUSTAINABILITY AND CORPORATE GOVERNANCE IN DRILLING OPERATIONS

Abstract

The article brings together sustainability and corporate governance to show how these elements work in tandem toward ensuring further operational efficiency, reduced environmental impact, and making business via- bility long-term. With increasing demand globally for energy, there is growing pressure for sustainable operations, particularly in drilling operations, which many times have remained under scrutiny because of their environmental footprint. Effective corporate governance helps ensure that sustainability efforts are aligned with company objec- tives, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder expectations. By aligning corporate governance with sustainabil- ity objectives, drilling companies can lessen their risks, build better stakeholder trust, and enhance their reputation to contribute to the global agenda of sustainable development. These findings certainly reinforce that in the mod- ern drilling industry, governance and sustainability must be at the heart of the business strategy.
