Abstract
This article presents the results of an accompanying evaluation of the Hamburg model project for sexually conspicuous minors. For the project, all children and young people who were suspected or convicted of a crime against sexual self-determination were reported to a specialised youth welfare office for juvenile delinquency. The main aim was to find individually suitable interventions. To this end, etiological aspects and risk factors were investigated using standardised procedures. The evaluation of the data from n = 81 minor suspected sex offenders shows predominantly problematic family circumstances and slightly increased aggressive-antisocial behavioural traits. Self-esteem problems are less common than average. Paraphilic tendencies were only found in a very small part of the sample. The individual consideration of developmental factors appears to be of particular importance; pathologisation and the initiation of specific help should not be done too quickly.
