Abstract
Migration is the method of sending virtual machine(s) (VMs) from one physical machine (PM) to other. Migration of VMs may be required for maintenance or up gradation of PMs without disturbing the executions being carried out by them. Unlike offline migration, in live migration, VM(s) are kept continuously powered-up. In this research, we intend to improve the total migration time and total downtime, with help of using pre-copy approach, against post copy approach where downtime is considerable. In our proposed work, low as well as high dirty page rates are considered.
