Abstract
The practice and effectiveness of treating sex offenders are still controversial. The methods used to prove effectiveness in the field of forensic psychiatry and psychotherapy show many peculiarities. Outpatient treatment measures for sex offenders in particular are subject to tension. This article attempts to illustrate the possibilities and difficulties in the area of treating sex offenders using the example of the Hamburg prevention outpatient clinic of the Institute for Sexual Research and Forensic Psychiatry, University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE).
