Abstract
This paper describes Nandyala pogaku-1, a high yielding good quality tobacco variety developed and released during August 2015 from Regional Agricultural Research Station, Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh, India. Nandyala pogaku-1 was developed using the parents NPN 126 × Viram through pedigree method, with emphasis on high cured leaf yield with superior leaf quality and moderately tolerant to pests and diseases. Tabulated data are provided on (i) morphological and physiological traits, (ii) yield performance, (iii) cured leaf yield as influenced by spacing and nitrogen levels, and (iv) chemical and smoke quality parameters of Nandyala pogaku-1.
