Abstract

Asperigillus niger (RRL isolate) produced about 900 units of glucoamylase/g dry substrate (gds) containing fungal biomass in solid-state fermentation using wheat bran mixed with corn flour at 10% w/w ratio as substrate of particle size 425–500 μm and 500–600 μm. However, substrates with mixed particle sizes containing particles smaller than 180 μm to bigger than 1·4 mm gave comparable yields.
