Narayanan Krishna Kumar

Prof. (Dr).Narayanan Krishna Kumar , is a bank executive turned academic / leadership Trainer . He is currently Dean and Head of Academics at State Bank Institute of Leadership (SBIL) . SBIL is the Apex Training Institute of the State Bank of India and is an integral part of the Bank created with a vision to promote B FSI Leadership for SBI and Bey ond. He has nearly 3 decades of experience spanning Banking, Consulting, Research , Training and Academics. As a Career Banker (after being campus recruited / topping BSRB Selection), he has more than fifteen years of progressive banking experience with varied profiles , wherein he grew from an entry level Probationary Officer / Asst. Manager in a multi -national bank to a General Manager level Executive and has worked with Nationalised, Private Sector and Foreign Banks ( namely Citibank NA , Corporation Bank, Union Ban k of India , Dhan laxmi Bank and State Bank of India ). He is exposed to both general and specialized streams of Banking and has headed the Risk and Treasury functions in Banks. His Academic Profile includes Graduation in Commerce and Mathematics. He did his Post Graduation in Management with specialization in Banking & Finance and is a Rank Holder. He was awarded Ph.d in Business Administration for his work on Risk Management by the Central University at Aligarh, U P, India in 2005 . He also earned colours by various other academic / research pursuits from Universities /Prof essional Institutes (including Indian Banks Association) through his Scholarship and fellowship . He is an accredited trainer and Visiting Professor in Universities , Business Schools and Training Colleges. As an academic , he has held academic leadership positions for nearly ten years, and held Directorship / Deanship in three different Universities / Institutions and has served as Chairman and member of Board of Studies and Academic Councils. His area of interest includes Banking, Finance, Management, Strategy, Risk, Technology and Restructuring . As an avid inter -disciplinary researcher he has published more than 60 publications in both National & International Journals (incl. Gold Standard Publications like Australian Busines s Deans Council rated (ABDC) and Scopus Indexed Publications) As a Consultant , he consult s on Risk Management, Restructuring, Business and Policy. He had consulted and had served as OD Consultant in IBRD / World Bank, SDC, UNDP and ADB assisted projects for Government of Kerala & Tamilnadu in the dairy and silk sectors. As a Speaker he has served as Ke y note speaker in National and International Conferences /Workshops on more than 50 vocations and in many Platforms and Forums like CII. FICCI, Universities etc., and had conducted m ore than 100 Training Programmes in India & abroad.
