Planning, Estimating and Costing of Double Storeyed Senior Secondary School
Planned well-ventilated and properly lightened double storeyed senior secondary school in an urban area like Aligarh. The school consisted of classrooms, library, assembly hall, canteen, laboratories and playground.
Treatment of Pulp and Paper Mill Wastewater by Physicochemical Methods
Assessed the performance of physico-chemical process for the treatment of pulp and paper mill wastewater. Evaluated various characteristics of wastewater such as pH, Hardness, Alkalinity, BOD 5, COD, Total solids, Suspended solids & Dissolved solids. Physico-chemical treatment was done by using different coagulants like alum, ferric chloride and ferrous sulphate. Conducted Jar test to determine the optimum pH and optimum dose of coagulants. Evaluated the effect of different coagulants like alum, ferric chloride and ferrous sulphate on various characteristics of water such as Alkalinity, Hardness, BOD & COD.
Seismic Performance of Buildings in Hilly Regions
Three dimensional modelling and analysis of stepback and setback-stepback building configurations including the effects of Unreinforced Masonry Infills and soil-structure interaction was carried out. Response Spectrum Analysis and Non-linear Static Pushover Analysis was performed using a finite element software Etabs v 16.0. Dynamic response in terms of shear forces induced in the columns at foundation level, fundamental time periods, maximum top storey displacements, storey drift, storey shear and plastic hinge formation pattern in buildings was evaluated and compared within the considered configurations of hill buildings.
