🚀 Projects

Performance and Emission Characteristics of Tire Pyrolysis Oil
Agency Name: || July 2016 - December 2016
This study investigated physical and chemical modification of Tire-Derived Fuel oil (TDF) obtained from pyrolysis of waste tires and rubber products for application as an alternative fuel for Compression Ignition engines (CI). TDF was collected from a local waste tire treatment facility. The load test was conducted on a CI engine at a constant speed with different blend compositions of Tire Pyrolysis oil and diesel and after performance and emission curves were plotted.
Aero Acoustic Simulation of Automotive Air Conditioning System
Agency Name: || December 2016 - June 2017
Involved simulation of air flow from the blower (fan) through ducts and AC vents using STAR -CCM+ to measure the noise generated in cabin. The design of ducts and vents were done using solidworks and the conducted study played an important role in designing HVAC system which would bring interior noise to acceptable limits.
Numerical Investigation on Effect of Louvered Fin parameters and Nano -Fluids on Radiator Cooling
Agency Name: || December 2016 - June 2017
Involved optimizing the design for a compact radiator for various louvered fins position and analyzing its effects on its heat transfer characteristics. Star CCM+ (CFD Package) was used to visualize the flow of air and heat transfer as it is more cost effective than the experimental method also ease of varying the parameters.
Performance Analysis of a Diesel Particulate Filter
Agency Name: || July 2017 - December 2017
In this study, the functioning of a particulate filter at a constant load and the back pressure generated due to the filter was represented. Set up consists of a ceramic honeycomb filter which is of 25mm diameter and 100mm height of 400cpsi, 40% porosity, wall thickness 0.12mm, channel width 1.346mm and a 3.7KW single cylinder diesel engine. The amount of soot trapped is obtained by calculating the difference between the weight of the filter after the test and weight of the filter before the test.
Segregation and Conversion of Municipal Plastic Waste into Fuel Using Pyrolysis Technique and Its Testing On VCR Engine
Agency Name: || December 2017 - July 2018
Extraction of fuel was carried in a crude reactor where degradation of the plastics were carried out in presence of Zeolite catalyst at 350C -380C. The testing of the fuel was carried out in a 4 stroke VCR engine according to ISO 8178 standard (5 mode) at different compression ratio, injection timing and injection pressure.
