Dr. Erik Katcher is a dedicated Resident Physician in Internal Medicine currently training at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Katcher’s research experience is extensive, having worked as a Research Associate at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai from 2021 to 2024. He contributed significantly to the study of gastric cancer and neuroendocrine tumors, gaining invaluable experience in clinical research, data analysis, and patient-centered studies. His work helped illuminate key aspects of these conditions, pushing forward our understanding of gastrointestinal oncology. Additionally, his time as a Graduate Student Researcher and Research Assistant at Mount Sinai gave him hands-on experience in pediatric immunology and immunological diseases. Before pursuing his medical career, Dr. Katcher worked in finance, having held roles such as a Proprietary Equity Trader at Trillium Management, where he honed his analytical skills and knowledge of financial markets. His early work in finance, particularly in equity derivatives sales and trading, helped him develop strong skills in financial analysis, decision-making, and strategy—abilities that serve him well in the evidence-based and highly analytical field of medicine. Throughout his career, Dr. Katcher has demonstrated his ability to blend the clinical and academic worlds. He has held leadership roles in various capacities, from his research work at Mount Sinai to his clinical training, where he has mentored junior researchers and students.
