Projects
Virtual Hackathon for Adaptable digital Solutions for Addressing the Impacts of Epidemic and Pandemic Diseases in Nigeria
During the project an Automated Temperature scanner with contact-tracing capability was developed to address the Impacts of Epidemic and Pandemic Diseases in Nigeria, This was with a view to transition from traditional contact tracing method that was manual using questionnaires to a sensor-based and data-driven tracking system in order to screen people and curtail the spread of temperature-related ailments such as COVID-19 pandemic, Ebola and Lassa fever
Development of solar-based smart irrigation system with predictive capability
The project aimed at using sensors powered by solar energy systems to power a smart farm located at Elizade University western Nigeria. The farmer was able to receive sensor measured data such as temperature, humidity and soil moisture on his mobile phone for the purpose of making important decisions about farm operations. The smart farm also served as a hub for training farmers and stakeholders in the agricultural value-chain in the art of digital (smart) agriculture
Development of a Special Tracking System for Electric Vehicle
The fund was provided for the project: Development of a Special Tracking System for Electric Vehicle. This is to safeguard the lives and properties of Nigerians and mitigate the dependance on fossil fuel as the nation transitions into the use of renewable energy and green economy
Solar-based Smart Irrigation System
Fund was provided to act as seed fund in support of the innovation: Solar-based Smart Irrigation System and its potential to address food security in the country

Automated Temperature Scanner with contact Tracing Capability
An automated temperature scanner with contact tracing capability within an organisation such as a University campus, government ministry and so on is described herein. The system is developed to assist in response to government's efforts at curtailing the spread of the novel COVID-19 pandemic and other high temperature-related diseases such as Ebola and Lassa fever. The device when installed in a premise does an automated temperature screening using its non-contact temperature sensors. It grants access only to users with temperature within the normal body temperature range (35.5 °C to 38 °C) and denies access to users whose temperatures are higher than the normal temperature. It performs authentication through which it acquires user's identity details such as name, sex, and address through its sensors and sends them with the acquired temperature to a remote database where the data so acquired can be further analysed. This data is useful for contact tracing, monitoring speed of diseases and for the purpose of planning / prevention of future occurrence.
Smart irrigation system with water management and remote logging capability
The system uses sensors to detect soil moisture, temperature and humidity of the farm and transmits the parameters over a network to make them available to users on a use-friendly mobile application through a mobile device. This leads to water saving and improved crop yield
