Zeszyty Naukowe - Universytetu Jagiellonskiego, Prace Botaniczne (ZNUJPB)
Journal Descriptions
Zeszyty Naukowe Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego. Prace Botaniczne is a scientific publication series issued by the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, one of the oldest and most prestigious academic institutions in Europe. Established in 1978, the series focuses on scholarly contributions in the field of botany and plant sciences. It forms part of the broader “Zeszyty Naukowe” (Scientific Papers) collections that document research outputs from various faculties of the university. The journal publishes original research articles, monographic studies, and specialized reports related to plant taxonomy, systematics, ecology, phytogeography, and plant physiology. It often includes detailed regional studies of flora, biodiversity assessments, and experimental research on plant biology. Contributions are typically written in Polish, with summaries or full texts in English to facilitate international accessibility. Unlike conventional periodicals, Prace Botaniczne is released as an irregular series of volumes, often tied to specific research themes or academic projects. Historically, it has played an important role in documenting botanical research in Poland and Central Europe, particularly in relation to local ecosystems and plant diversity. The series is indexed in selected bibliographic databases and is primarily available through academic libraries and institutional repositories.
