Zeolites (Zeolites)
Journal Descriptions
Zeolites was a specialized, peer reviewed scientific journal dedicated to the study of zeolite materials and related microporous substances. Published by Elsevier from 1981 to 1997, the journal served as a central platform for researchers working in the fields of materials science, chemistry, and chemical engineering. It focused on the synthesis, characterization, and application of zeolites, which are crystalline aluminosilicates widely used in catalysis, adsorption, and ion exchange processes. The journal published original research articles, short communications, and review papers covering both fundamental and applied aspects of zeolite science. Topics included pore structure analysis, catalytic performance, adsorption mechanisms, molecular sieving, and industrial applications such as petroleum refining and environmental remediation. It also explored emerging materials related to zeolites, contributing to the development of microporous and mesoporous materials research. In 1997, Zeolites was discontinued and merged into the journal Microporous and Mesoporous Materials, which expanded the scope to include a broader class of porous materials. Despite its discontinuation, Zeolites remains historically significant for its contributions to the advancement of porous materials science and continues to be cited in contemporary research.
