Zentralblatt fur Veterinarmedizin. Reihe B. (ZVRB)
Journal Descriptions
Zentralblatt für Veterinärmedizin. Reihe B, later known as Journal of Veterinary Medicine, Series B, was a prominent scientific journal focusing on infectious diseases and epidemiology in veterinary science. Established in 1954 as part of the Zentralblatt series, it became an important platform for publishing research on animal health, particularly in the areas of microbiology, virology, and zoonotic diseases. The journal published original research articles, reviews, and short communications addressing the diagnosis, transmission, and control of infectious diseases affecting domestic and wild animals. It also emphasized diseases with public health relevance, especially those transmissible between animals and humans. Contributions often included laboratory-based studies, field epidemiology, and emerging disease investigations. With the increasing globalization of animal health concerns, the journal evolved to reflect broader international collaboration. In 2005, it was restructured and eventually integrated into Transboundary and Emerging Diseases, which continues to publish research on global animal health threats.
