Zeitschrift fur klinische Chemie und klinische Biochemie (ZKCKB)
Journal Descriptions
Zeitschrift für klinische Chemie und klinische Biochemie was a leading European scientific journal in the fields of clinical chemistry and clinical biochemistry. Established in 1963, the journal served as the official publication of the German Society for Clinical Chemistry and was published by Walter de Gruyter in Berlin. It functioned as an important platform for researchers and clinical laboratory scientists to publish original research, methodological developments, and clinical applications related to biochemical diagnostics. The journal focused on laboratory medicine, including blood chemistry, enzymology, metabolic disorders, immunochemistry, and diagnostic biomarkers. It published peer-reviewed articles in both English and German, making it accessible to an international scientific audience. During its publication period, it contributed significantly to the development of modern clinical laboratory standards and biochemical testing methods. The journal was issued monthly and remained active until 1990, after which it was succeeded by the European Journal of Clinical Chemistry and Clinical Biochemistry, and later by Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine. Today, it is considered a historically important journal in the evolution of clinical laboratory science and is indexed in major biomedical databases such as MEDLINE and Scopus.
