Zeitschrift für Immunitätsforschung was one of the earliest dedicated journals in the field of immunology, emerging during a period when immunology was developing as a distinct scientific discipline. Founded in Germany in the early 20th century, the journal served as a key platform for publishing pioneering research on immune responses, infectious diseases, serology, and experimental pathology. It included both basic laboratory investigations and clinically oriented studies, contributing significantly to the understanding of antigen–antibody interactions, immunity mechanisms, and vaccine research. Over time, the journal reflected major scientific advancements, including developments in bacteriology, virology, and allergy research. It often published articles in German, which was a leading scientific language at the time. The journal eventually evolved and was incorporated into other immunology-related publications as the field expanded and internationalized.
