Zeitschrift für Sozialpsychologie (ZS)
Journal Descriptions
The Zeitschrift für Sozialpsychologie (Journal of Social Psychology) was a renowned German academic journal dedicated to social psychology and political psychology research. Published by the Hogrefe Publishing Group, it served as a key platform for German and international scholars to present empirical and theoretical research on human social behavior, group dynamics, attitudes, and societal influences on individuals. Established in 1970, the journal provided a rigorous peer-reviewed forum for studies on topics such as intergroup relations, identity formation, prejudice, social cognition, and applied social psychology in various fields, including politics, business, and education. It played a significant role in shaping social psychological discourse in German-speaking countries and beyond. The journal was published in print under ISSN 0044-3514 and had an online version under ISSN 2235-1477. In 2007, Zeitschrift für Sozialpsychologie was discontinued and succeeded by Social Psychology (ISSN 1864-9335), which continued its mission under a more internationally focused framework. Despite its discontinuation, the journal remains an important reference for scholars studying the evolution of social psychology in Europe.
