The Journal of Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery is the official continuing education organ of the German Society for Thoracic, Cardiac and Vascular Surgery (DGTHG) and the information platform for the decisive developments in the field. It is aimed at young doctors in training and specialists who want to stay up-to-date. The journal offers state-of-the-art surgery from indication to follow-up treatment, current surgical and technological trends and information on new research directions. At the heart of each issue are works in the sections "Overviews" and "Surgical Techniques", casuistries show unusual courses of illness or treatment or are dedicated to legal issues. In the "In Focus" section, experts comment on outstanding publications from international specialist literature. Articles in the "CME Certified Training" section offer reliable results of scientific research and make medical experience usable for daily practice. The section is based on the continuing education regulations of the department.
