Yugoslav Survey (YS)

Yugoslav Survey is an English-language academic journal that historically focused on political, social, and economic developments in the former Yugoslavia and the Balkan region. First established in 1960, it served as one of the key scholarly platforms for analyzing Yugoslav state policies, federal structure, international relations, and socio-economic reforms during the existence of Yugoslavia. Published quarterly, the journal was primarily produced under the guidance of institutions in Belgrade, most notably the Institute for International Politics and Economics. It provided an international academic audience with detailed insights into Yugoslavia’s political system, non-aligned foreign policy, ethnic and regional dynamics, and development strategies during the Cold War period.
