Journal Descriptions

The Yearbook of Balkan and Baltic Studies is a peer-reviewed academic publication dedicated to interdisciplinary research on the Balkan and Baltic regions of Europe. It provides a scholarly platform for the analysis of political, historical, cultural, and social developments in countries across Southeastern and Northeastern Europe. The yearbook focuses on comparative and cross-regional perspectives, exploring similarities and differences between Balkan and Baltic societies. It covers topics such as regional integration, identity formation, geopolitics, historical transformations, and cultural exchange. Particular emphasis is placed on post-Cold War developments, European Union enlargement, and the evolving role of these regions in global affairs. Each annual volume includes research articles, review essays, and sometimes thematic sections addressing contemporary issues such as migration, security, governance, and economic transition. The publication encourages interdisciplinary approaches, drawing from political science, history, sociology, and cultural studies.
