Wound Ballistics Review (WBR)
Journal Descriptions
Wound Ballistics Review was a specialized forensic and medical journal dedicated to the study of wound ballistics, which examines the effects of projectiles (such as bullets and fragments) on human and animal tissue. The journal focused on bridging military trauma research, forensic science, and clinical wound management. Published by the International Wound Ballistics Association, it provided a platform for experts in forensic pathology, trauma surgery, and military medicine to publish research on gunshot wound mechanics, ballistic injury patterns, and experimental studies using tissue simulants. Articles often addressed bullet-tissue interaction, energy transfer, wound cavity formation, and misconceptions in firearm injury interpretation. The journal was particularly active in the late 1990s and early 2000s but ceased publication after approximately 2001. Although it is no longer active, its content contributed to foundational discussions in modern wound ballistics and forensic trauma analysis.
