World Political Science Review (WPSR)
Journal Descriptions
World Political Science Review (WPSR) is a peer-reviewed academic journal that aimed to promote global political science research by making non-English scholarship accessible to an international audience. Published by De Gruyter in collaboration with the International Political Science Association, the journal focused on translating high-quality, award-winning research articles originally published in different languages. This unique approach helped bridge linguistic barriers and allowed scholars worldwide to engage with important political research that would otherwise remain regionally confined. The journal covered a broad range of topics within political science, including comparative politics, international relations, political theory, political sociology, political economy, and public policy. By compiling contributions from various national political science associations, WPSR provided a truly global perspective on political issues affecting societies and governments. WPSR served as an important platform for cross-cultural academic exchange and contributed to the globalization of political science knowledge. However, despite its innovative mission, the journal faced operational challenges and was eventually discontinued. Its publication effectively ended around 2019–2020, although previously published issues remain accessible through the publisher’s archives. Today, it is remembered as a significant initiative that enhanced international collaboration and knowledge dissemination in political science.
