Workshop on Hyperspectral Image and Signal Processing: Evolution in Remote Sensing (WHISPERS)
Journal Descriptions
The Workshop on Hyperspectral Image and Signal Processing: Evolution in Remote Sensing (WHISPERS) is an internationally recognized scientific forum dedicated to advances in hyperspectral imaging and its applications in remote sensing. Hyperspectral imaging involves capturing and processing information across hundreds of narrow spectral bands, enabling highly detailed analysis of materials, land cover, and environmental conditions. WHISPERS focuses on both theoretical developments and practical applications of hyperspectral data analysis. Key research areas include spectral unmixing, classification, anomaly detection, dimensionality reduction, and signal processing techniques for large-scale remote sensing datasets. The workshop also highlights the integration of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and deep learning methods to improve accuracy and efficiency in hyperspectral data interpretation. A major goal of WHISPERS is to bridge the gap between algorithm development and real-world applications such as agriculture monitoring, mineral exploration, environmental surveillance, disaster management, and urban planning. It brings together researchers, engineers, and practitioners from academia, government agencies, and industry.
