WikiJournal of Science (WJS)
Journal Descriptions
WikiJournal of Science is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal that publishes research in science, engineering, mathematics, and technology. Established in 2018, it operates under the WikiJournal User Group and is supported by the Wikimedia Foundation. The journal follows a diamond open-access model, meaning authors are not charged publication fees and readers have free access to all content. It promotes transparency through public peer review, where reviewer reports are openly accessible alongside published articles. The journal accepts both original research and review articles across a wide range of scientific disciplines. Accepted manuscripts are published in two formats: an editable wiki version hosted on Wikimedia platforms and a formally citable PDF version with a DOI. Selected articles are also integrated into Wikipedia, increasing visibility and educational impact. Unlike traditional journals, WikiJournal of Science uses a continuous publication model rather than fixed issue schedules, allowing articles to be published as soon as they complete peer review. Its editorial structure is community-driven, involving volunteer academic editors and associate editors from various disciplines worldwide. The journal aims to bridge academic publishing with open knowledge dissemination, making scientific research more accessible to both researchers and the general public.
